Role description
As we continue to expand our operations in Hamburg and globally, we are seeking an experienced Head of Finance Germany to lead our German Finance team. In this role you will be a key member of our local management team, reporting directly to our VP Finance. You will oversee all financial operations, ensuring compliance, managing risks, and providing strategic insights to drive profitability and growth. The role requires a blend of operational expertise, leadership skills, as well as a strategic mindset.
Your Mission
Financial Leadership & Strategy Development:
* Lead all local financial operations, including ongoing accounting, financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cost cash flow management.
* Lead and guide our Head of Accounting, inspire and manage our controlling team, as well as encourage collaboration and professional growth.
* Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company’s goals, while actively participating in and leading international projects to drive global impact.
Compliance & Governance:
* Ensure adherence to all regulatory, tax, and legal requirements within Germany including insurances.
* Recognize the importance of stakeholder communication in a family-owned business by balancing financial expertise with the family’s long-term vision to build trust and drive sustainable success.
Transfer Pricing & M&A:
* Oversee and manage transfer pricing strategies to ensure compliance, optimize financial efficiency, and support global business operations.
* Support financial due diligence and integration for potential acquisitions or partnerships.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
* 8-10 years of experience in senior financial management roles.
* Experience as “kaufmännische Leitung”, leading accounting and controlling teams.
* Deep understanding of German financial regulations, tax law, and compliance.
* Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to link financial insights to business objectives.
* International Tax and Transfer Pricing experience.
* Excellent communication skills, with fluency in German and English.
Preferred Qualifications
* Master’s degree in business administration (MBA), Finance, or Accounting.
* Experience working in a global, matrix organization with cross-functional teams.
* Experience with project management tools (Jira, Confluence) and agile methodologies.
