As Surgical Glaucoma Country Leader - DACH (m/f/d), you will be reporting directly to the Surgical Glaucoma Commercial Director Europe and being in charge of building, leading and executing the full commercial launch plan for Germany. You will be responsible for building and line managing a commercial team of surgical glaucoma specialists as the country launch evolves.
In this role, a typical day will include:
1. Manage country/cluster sales team with high emotional intelligence to motivate and drive team performance
2. Work closely with European Surgical Glaucoma Commercial Director to devise and execute country level strategy to achieve commercial and people objectives
3. Work with International Marketing Group (IMG) in conjunction with European Surgical Glaucoma support functions to ensure necessary marketing materials are developed for country
4. Undertake effective KOL development activities at launch and ongoing to be recognized as the surgical glaucoma country figurehead and leader
5. Arrange, manage and execute country congresses and country level events to promote Alcon and drive new business leads
6. Compilation of local market assessment and analysis of Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) market potential to include (but not limited to) competitors, reimbursement environment, SWOT analyses, KOL targets, customer targets, pricing levels etc.
7. Effective Sales and Operation Planning (S&OP) in conjunction with supply chain colleagues and EU Commercial Director to ensure accurate forecasting for country stock requirements
8. Follow trends in the MIGS Industry and share with regional head/management colleagues as appropriate
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
9. Relevant academic background, e.g. degree in Business Administration, Medical Technology or similar
10. Extensive proven track record of success in commercial sales roles in pharma or medical devices
11. Leadership experience is a must
12. Experience in any/all of: medical devices > Ophthalmology > surgery > cataract > Glaucoma > MIGS would be highly desirable
13. Excellent communication skills – written, oral and when presenting both in German and English
14. Ability to build strong relationships with country Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and with internal Alcon colleagues
