Your role
As a Research Adviser you will:
1. conduct state-of-the-art research that helps to address key central bank policy issues and is ultimately published in top academic journals, and contribute to the intellectual leadership of the ECB within the global central bank-related research community;
2. contribute to the Division’s role as a valued source of policy advice within the ECB, the Eurosystem and the European System of Central Banks and advise on the planning, coordination and execution of policy-related research within the Division;
3. lead research teams and support staff in developing their capabilities in the field of financial research;
4. foster collaboration with internal and external counterparts, particularly within the ECB, the research community, other central banks, policy institutions and think tanks;
5. take an active role in the Division’s management team.

Qualifications, experience and skills
Essential:
6. a PhD in economics, finance or another relevant field (see for details on degree equivalences);
7. in addition to the above, a minimum of seven years’ professional experience in financial economics, monetary economics, international finance or econometrics;
8. publications in top economics and/or finance journals in the areas of monetary policy implementation and transmission, financial institutions and markets, financial stability and regulation, financial technologies, and/or international financial linkages;
9. at least two years’ professional experience in leading research projects and/or teams, and in overseeing research activities;
10. experience in providing policy advice, including drawing on research results and analytical models and effectively processing research-based policy work;
11. excellent communication skills, including a proven aptitude for presenting research results effectively to different audiences and in non-technical terms;
12. an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the .
