Position Overview:
Cambridge Associates (“CA”) is a global investment firm with 50+years of institutional investing experience. Since our founding in, we have been a market leader in building diversified investment portfolios for endowments, foundations, private clients, pension plans, healthcare systems, and other institutional investors, all in pursuit of outperformance and making positive, real-world impact. Our Munich office has been opened in, here we provide services to our European clients and support them in portfolio management and consulting. Recently CA expanded its presence in Europe and also in Middle East.
As our international business is growing, we are seeking a Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager to support our global Finance function and Finance director at our Munich office with accounting, internal and external reporting as well as participate in various projects to drive improvements and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
·Manage the accounting processes and all aspects of the general ledger process, including monthly closings, account reconciliations and analytics, in accordance with Group and local deadlines.
·Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and regulatory reports for CA GmbH in compliance with German GAAP and other applicable investment firm regulations.
·Support in maintaining accounting processes and financial reporting with DIFC (Dubai) and Swiss entities of the CA Group.
·Review and analyze monthly financial results to ensure accounting compliance and accuracy, as well as document variances and explanations.
·Work in partnership with Financial Planning & Analysis (“FP&A”), Tax, Treasury and Operations teams on day-to-day basis to ensure accuracy and compliance.
·Collaborate with external bookkeepers on the preparation of monthly accounting reports for local GAAP, regulatory filings as well as annual financial statements.
·Collaborate with Tax team on Value-Added Tax (“VAT”) returns and support in filing of annual income tax returns, as well as support audits and inquiries of tax authorities.
·Support in coordination of external audits to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of all data requests and ensure total compliance, working in collaboration with global colleagues and external staff.
·Maintain all current policies, processes and procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
·Develop and implement identified process improvements.
·Support in maintaining outsourcing controlling of accounting and financial reporting activities performed by CA and external bookkeepers, such as maintaining descriptions of outsourced activities and reviewing results of providers.
·Complete special reporting and analysis projects, as needed.
·Operate with the highest level of integrity and confidentiality.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
·Must be fluent in German and English.
·4+ years of combined public accounting, industry experience with progressive responsibilities. Big four experience is a plus.
·Bachelor's degree required; CPA, ACCA or equivalent professional designation is a plus.
·Strong knowledge of all aspects of German GAAP and familiarity with IFRS, US GAAP.
·Knowledge of accounting policies and reporting processes in DIFC and Switzerland is a plus.
·Investment management firm and related regulatory environment experience is a plus.
·DATEV and Oracle knowledge is a plus.
·Possess a high level of attention to details and strong analytical skills.
