We are looking for a motivated and experienced Strategic Procurement Manager to join our global team and drive our API & Ingredients sourcing strategy forward.
As a Strategic Procurement Manager, you will take charge of supplier relationships for APIs and ingredients critical to our parenteral and enteral nutrition products. From supplier selection and contract negotiations to performance reviews and long-term development agreements, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our supply chain's strength and reliability. Working cross-functionally with R&D, QA, Legal, and more, you will lead initiatives that ensure the highest standards are met from sourcing to product commercialization.
Your assignments
1. Strategic Supplier Management: Oversee the full supplier lifecycle for APIs and Ingredients, including selection, qualification, and ongoing performance management
2. Contract Negotiation & Agreements: Lead international negotiations and development agreements to secure favorable terms for Fresenius Kabi
3. Cross-functional Leadership: Act as the central point of contact between internal development teams and external suppliers, driving resolution on API/Ingredient issues through all stages of product development
4. Supplier Relationship Building: Manage key strategic suppliers, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with business needs
5. Collaboration Across Departments: Work closely with R&D, QA/QC, Supply Chain, Legal, and Finance teams, providing expertise on APIs and ingredient sourcing
6. Market Analysis & Supplier Visits: Maintain a pulse on the market by attending key fairs and visiting suppliers to stay informed on trends and emerging opportunities
7. Forecast Consolidation: Manage and consolidate forecasts across multiple production sites, aligning supply with demand to ensure business continuity
8. Sourcing-to-Contract Excellence: Drive a thorough RFQ process, ensuring strategic sourcing decisions align with company goals and market conditions
Your profile
9. A degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Natural Sciences, or Business Administration.
10. 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical or medical nutrition procurement, with a strong focus on APIs and ingredients.
11. Proven success working in a global, matrix-driven organization, ideally within a multicultural team.
12. Strong understanding of regulatory processes for APIs and the drug development lifecycle.
13. Exceptional negotiation capabilities, with the ability to secure win-win outcomes and foster long-term partnerships.
14. A solution-oriented mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
15. Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English), with the ability to navigate cross-functional and multicultural teams.
16. Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Teams), ensuring efficient reporting and communication.
17. Willingness to travel (approx. 30%)
