Compliance, AML & KYC Analyst – Berlin, Germany About the Role We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Compliance Analyst to lead our Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) onboarding initiatives. This role will also support the Compliance Team in various key areas and collaborate with various departments to foster a culture of compliance throughout the organization. This full-time position offers a flexible hybrid working model and includes the following responsibilities : KYC and AML Onboarding: Lead the end-to-end KYC and AML onboarding process for counterparties, ensuring all documentation is collected, verified, and stored in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Conduct thorough risk assessments for counterparties, classifying them according to risk levels and implementing appropriate due diligence measures. Monitor ongoing KYC processes to ensure timely updates and re-screening in accordance with evolving regulatory standards. Trade and Communications Surveillance: Support the compliance team in trade and communications surveillance by monitoring and analyzing trading activity and communications for compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Identify and investigate potential suspicious activities, reporting findings to the compliance team and senior management as necessary. Collaborate with relevant teams to enhance surveillance processes and systems. Regulatory Research and Reporting: Conduct research on regulatory requirements relevant to physical and financial trading and advise accordingly. Assist in the development and delivery of Compliance Training. Assist in the preparation of comprehensive compliance reports that summarize regulatory changes, risks, and compliance trends. Stay abreast of emerging regulations, best practices, and industry trends, providing insights, guidance and advice to desks, the wider Legal & Compliance team, other support functions and senior management. Ensure that all compliance policies and procedures are appropriately documented, updated and available for reference. KPI Reporting: Regularly review KPIs with the compliance team and make recommendations for improvements based on data analysis and assessment. Assist the Global Head of Compliance with periodic reports showcasing compliance performance against established KPIs. Basic knowledge and understanding of regulation, particularly physical and financial European energy regulations, including Grid Codes, REMIT, MAR, MiFID, EMIR, etc. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with trade and communications surveillance techniques and technologies. Working proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Bachelor’s or Masters degree in finance, Business Administration, Law, or related field is desirable, but not required. A relevant professional certification such as ACAMS or CAMS is desirable, but not required. German language B1 level is desirable, but not required.
