About your team
The IT Web, API and Mobile team is responsible for the maintenance of mission critical applications and infrastructure forming the web and mobile footprint of FIL Fondsbank GmbH (FFB).
About your role
In your role as a Technical Manager for the API squad, you are responsible for building and maintaining the relationships with external interface consumers (SOAP, REST, and FTP) in close accordance with your teammates and FFB IT and business teams. You are the front door and main point of contact coordinating the external and internal technical questions and requirements. You will ensure that the needs of all stakeholders are met and that the clients are satisfied with the products and services provided. A successful candidate is expected to interact closely with internal application development teams as well as with all business units within the company. The team's main task is analysis and triage of potential technical issues of our in-house developed trading application and its corresponding APIs. Incident and problem management is a vital part of our daily work. Our goal is to offer reliable service for our sophisticated financial tools and products in a highly available and automated environment. The day-to-day business (RTB) includes working with internal and external parties like independent financial advisors, self-directed end investors, FFB/FIL stakeholders, as well as with third-party providers to meet customer demands and expectations. As 2nd level application support for the FFB trading platform and its API interfaces, the team is also responsible for providing information on technical inquiries from the financial market environment.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Technical stakeholder and coordinator for FFB IT to the external partners, clients, and prospects regarding the onboarding, the technical setup, and maintenance subjects for the API interfaces (SOAP and REST) and the file transfer (FTP) account management process.
* Identifying enhancement opportunities for continuous product development and to foster the resilience and stability of the APIs.
* Maintenance and second-level support for FFB's mission critical API interfaces.
* Independent organization and coordination of customer-specific API problem-solving processes.
* Testing of defect resolutions for the SOAP and REST APIs.
* Capture, clarification, and classification of technical and fund/financial related inquiries, incident, and problem tickets within the used toolset (Atlassian Jira, Atlassian Confluence (Wiki), ServiceNow).
* Be part of the future and further development of our financial advisory platform with its diversified products and features and participate with your personal experiences to make things better.
* Acting as a proxy for FFB API Team with development, technical, and business-related questions or enhancements to collect and share the details within the team regarding new process workflows and/or product setup.
* Collaborate with FIL/FFB teams across multiple locations and countries.
* Identification and development of quality assurance measures.
About you
* Mother tongue German.
* Good analytical and problem resolution skills.
* Ideally experience from the banking or broker environment.
* Very good customer centric mindset, with ability to manage customer expectations, customer-focused & service oriented.
* High ability to work under pressure.
* Excellent team player, disciplined, and conscientious approach.
* Passion to learn and continuously grow.
Preferable Skills are:
* Experience with JIRA and ServiceNOW, SoapUI, and Postman.
* Practical experience and understanding of relational databases (preferably Oracle RDBMS).
* Experience with GitHub.
