MR F&C is a global business unit responsible for single risk business written facultative or direct. Since its foundation in 2019, MR F&C has significantly and profitably grown its portfolio, created an efficient operating platform and invested into innovative initiatives.
UW Services (UWS) plays a key role in supporting the UW teams in underwriting their business. In your role as technical assistant for underwriting, you will be responsible for providing this technical and administrative cross-line support to the underwriters. The job is based in Munich.
Your job
1. Supporting underwriters with new business and renewals along the underwriting process including the capturing of risks in our systems
2. Assisting underwriters in the creation and verification of contract documents, and the accounting of facultative and corporate risks
3. Offering support in e-filing risk information and contract information (including management of paper files)
4. Supporting underwriting units in collaborating with Reinsurance Accounting and Reinsurance Controlling
5. Cooperating with Claims in the identification of risk affected locations including linking exposure and losses
6. Assisting follow-up for policy renewals and creation of performance summaries from various sources
7. Supporting the management of data quality in source systems in collaboration with Corporate Underwriting and/or Reinsurance Controlling
8. Collaborating and substituting within the global Underwriting Assistant network framework of Munich Re
Your profile
9. Apprenticeship in insurance and/or finance, or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
10. Several years of experience in insurance/reinsurance, preferably in property or casualty
11. Detailed knowledge of technical principles of facultative/direct underwriting including facilities
12. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
13. Excellent command of German and English
14. Strong team player with personal integrity and highly developed soft skills, especially strong communication, networking and intercultural skills
15. Analytical and conceptual skills
16. Positive attitude and willingness to learn and innovate
