For the Communication and Information Center (kiz) we are looking for a

IT employee network & telephony (m/f/d)

With around 140 employees, kiz is the second largest central institution at Ulm University and provides services for research, teaching, studies and administration in the areas of library, information technology and media.

Within kiz, the position offered is assigned to the Infrastructure department, but is also linked to the Media department and therefore involves close cooperation between the two departments. In addition to virtualized infrastructure and an HPC system for research support in the state, the Infrastructure department also provides a variety of modern end devices and IT services for students and employees of Ulm University.

Your profile:

* Completed vocational training as an IT specialist, IT systems electronics technician or comparable qualification
* High affinity for IT and media technology
* detailed knowledge of or experience with current operating systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux)
* Basic knowledge of network technology, scripting languages in the UNIX environment, media technology (A/V technology)
* Basic knowledge of English
* High level of commitment, initiative and conscientious work ethic
* Resilience, reliability and a strong ability to work in a team

Your tasks:

* Support of the VoIP network
* Support of the media technology
* Troubleshooting in the event of system failures and identifying bottlenecks
* Testing, configuration and maintenance of hardware and software
* Maintaining and managing documentation
* Training end users in the use of VoIP devices and media technology
* Repair of hardware and peripheral devices
* Operation of media technology for events
* Handling the rental of multimedia equipment
