Overview
We are looking for someone to be part of our Administrative Service Team based in Germany. With offices in Munich, Dusseldorf, Sulingen, Neunkirchen and Dortmund this role will serve our business across the DACH region. The successful candidate would be based in Garching by Munich, in Germany.
As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for a broad variety of administrative support related tasks, working closely with all Business Units, reporting to the Accounting Manager. Your superior organizational and planning skills will enable you to successfully meet tight deadlines, while your flexibility allows you to adapt to any challenge that is presented.
Responsibilities
As part of the Central region finance team you will be responsible for:
• Processing vendor payments in accordance with negotiated terms and with appropriate general ledger account and department distributions according to established guideline
• Processing employee expense reimbursements in compliance with local travel policy and approval matrices
• Preparing reports such as DSO, Aged Receivables, and Aged Unbilled Receivables.
• Posting and reconciling global cash pool netting
• Preparing standard and nonstandard journal entries and general ledger account analysis
• Accounting for fixed asset purchases, tracking fixed assets, recording depreciation and periodically performing physical audits of fixed assets
• Providing documentation for external auditors
• Supporting during the month end closing and annual financial statements
Depending on the specific area of responsibility, additional job duties may include the following:
• Applying customer payments and following up with customers on issues including reminders
• Processing all cash, bank and payment transactions
• Processing intercompany accounting and reconciliation
Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in accounting in a multinational company
• Very good command of spoken and written German (at least C2 level) and English language (business proficiency)
• Strong planning and organizing skills, deadline oriented
• Proficient in using MS Office, especially MS Excel (Pivotables, vlook-up, etc.)
• Experienced user of a standard ERP system (MS Dynamics Great Plains experience would be an advantage)
• Fast learner, communicative and a high degree of social competence
