The position to be filled is located at the Media Effects Research unit at the Institute for Media and Communication Studies. The institute has 11 research groups covering the full thematic and methodological range of communication science. The Media Effects Research unit focuses on the influence of media in modern digital media environments on cognitive processes, opinion formation, and behavior. A particular focus is on the use and effects of political communication.

Job description :
• Participation in research, teaching, and administration of the Media Effects Research unit
• Working in the field of empirical content, reception, and effects research, particularly in political communication
• Presenting your research at national and international conferences
• Publishing your research in international academic journals
• Contributing to the application for third-party funded projects
• Independent teaching of university courses (e.g., seminars)
• Participation in academic self-administration is expected
• The activity serves the own scient qualification.You are expected to submit a doctoral agreement after 12 months
Requirements :
• Completed university degree (Magister, Diplom, Master) in Communication Science or a related social science field (e.g., Psychology, Political Science)
Desirable :
• Solid knowledge of empirical social research, especially quantitative methods and statistical data analysis
• initial experience in conducting laboratory and online studies
• initial experience with survey software
• interest in an international research orientation
• excellent written and spoken English skills
• team spirit and strong organizational skills
