AND EXTERNAL Local National Applicants, who reside in Germany. Hauptaufgaben Develops and manages break and lunch schedules based on actual and anticipated patron traffic flow. Uses computer scheduling programs and management skills in arriving at the optimum personnel schedule that will reduce patron waiting time while expending the least amount of labor hours. Approves time and attendance documents ensuring timely completion to meet payroll deadlines. Approves and/or disapproves leave requests. May work through a Lead Store Associate, defining and delegating appropriate authorities. Evaluates work performance of subordinates. Recommends awards and/or bonuses. Identifies training needs and works to ensure the needs are met. Recommends personnel actions such as promotions and reassignments. Interviews and makes selections for new employees. Ensures new personnel receive proper orientation and ensures on-the-job training is provided. Initiates disciplinary actions and, when possible, resolves employee grievances, Refers serious issues to higher level management. In the course of daily operations, interfaces with baggers and refers any problems or complaints to the higher-level store management for resolution. Reviews over and/or short reports. Initiates actions necessary to correct recurring problems including additional training and/or closer supervision. Monitors cash-on-hand reports to ensure authorized cash drawer limits are not exceeded. Personally, conducts or oversees cash pickups at various times during the workday. Performs manager overrides and prepares, processes, and approves customer refunds. Responds to customer questions and issues with tact and diplomacy. Personally, resolves many routine situations referring unusual requests or more difficult situations to higher level management. Reviews financial reports related to cash accountability and enforces procedures for control and protection of commissary funds. Safeguards cash and all other cash-equivalent documents and ensures that daily receipts are properly accounted for and deposited. Receives vendors' checks and copies of Vendor Credit Memorandums. Deposits checks received daily using separate Report of Deposits, Bank Deposit Tickets, ensuring all quantities are reconciled. As necessary, performs teller duties including counting change fund, setting up cash drawers, and preparing the front end for daily operations. Loads money tills into self-checkout registers. Runs diagnostics to ensure money disburses correctly making any necessary adjustments. Completes, reviews, and files a variety of forms and reports which account for daily operations and which serve as control records for the receipt and deposit of cash, checks, debit and credit card transactions, electronic benefits transfer transactions, coupons, and refund slips. Reconciles monetary items received with end-of-day reports produced from the system and with the previous day's account balances and end-of day receipts. Applies specialized knowledge of the automated checkout system, consisting of a special purpose mini-computer and a number of electronic terminals, to extract a number of required reports. Distributes sales reports to appropriate managers. Personally, reviews data to ensure the system is operating properly. Utilizes the data to maintain quality control of the transactions effected by front end personnel and funds status. Responsible for the operation of the automated checkout system ensuring the control features are not compromised. Starts the system after performing front-end close out procedures. Reports system problems to appropriate help desk officials and monitors actions to ensure prompt resolution. Conducts periodic inspections of front-end area and operations to ensure compliance with local safety, fire, security, and sanitation regulations and procedures. Anticipates and meets the needs of both internal and external customers. Delivers high quality products and services and is committed to continuous improvement. Performs other duties as assigned.
