We are a world leader in a high-tech niche sector with measuring instruments for thermal analysis and rheology. Our devices are used in laboratories and production facilities around the world to analyse everything from raw materials to finished products as part of research and development and quality assurance. They are used for material characterisation at the highest level for almost all materials, such as plastics, ceramics and metals - from pharmaceuticals to components for aircraft construction. Our company is family-owned, which is reflected in our corporate culture: Work-life balance is a high priority, which our employees appreciate. We offer you everything you could wish for, both professionally and privately. Work for a future-oriented and internationally orientated global market leader. Job Description The need and demand for determining the thermal conductivity of insulation materials is increasing rapidly worldwide. A standard method is stationary thermal conductivity testing. In order to optimize accuracy and repeatability of this test method, dissipation effects need to be modelled. So far, the only way to compensate for these unwanted effects has been to use a lot of equipment. The objective of the task described is to gain better understanding of these effects, both experimentally and theoretically, with respect to optimizing stationary thermal conductivity measurements. • Experimental analysis of the stationary methods for determination of the thermal conductivity • Modelling of the physical process of the thermal conductivity test methods applied • Implementation of the model, calculation of selected cases and validation with experimental results • Derivation of theoretical approaches for optimizing thermal conductivity determination • Close collaboration with the development team and detailed documentation of the results as part of a master's or diploma thesis Qualifications • Students in a Master's programs in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, physics or comparable fields of study • Knowledge of mathematical algorithms for the simulation of physical processes • Basic knowledge in the field of heat-transfer phenomena • Interest in experimental work and exemplary modelling of phenomena • Programming skills in at least one of the following languages: Matlab, Python or C# • Structured and independent way of working • Very good communication and team skills PERFEKTE BEDINGUNGEN FÜR EXZELLENTE LEISTUNGEN Wachsen Sie mit uns gemeinsam, unsere Benefits machen Ihren Weg so angenehm wie möglich.
