This covers all current Local National employees of the U.S. Forces in Germany, including U.S. Air Force and AAFES-Europe within Germany and EXTERNAL Local National Applicants, who reside in Germany. Hauptaufgaben Is in charge of the document control section of Operations Division performing as production control element tasking and evaluating the ammunition load crews engaged in receiving, storing, issuing, and rewarehousing of class V supply items and supporting elements carpenter shop and machine shop. Tasks assigned to Operations Division are scheduled into a sequence of operations, deadlines and priorities on the basis of overall programs, material release orders associated task or ex-orders and their respective time lines. All ammunition activities regardless of nature must be documented, this regulatory requirement underlines the importance of accurate documentation warranting an efficient flow of operations. Receives a material release order (MRO) and establishes mission file. Evaluates impact on missions being worked and raises concerns to division chief. Receives documentation required for all types of ammunition activities and checks for completeness and accuracy. Based on documentation determines number of loads and conveyance to be used, verifies availability sufficient in quantity. Reports shortfalls in quantity or quality of available conveyances to Transportation Section. Modifies/combines documents to match load or configuration plans thus facilitating the work of the ammunition load crews and reducing the risk of error. Generates work orders indicating task number and explaining task to be performed as well as special requirements to be adhered to and attaches to documents. Maintains the work order log for ammunition activities analyses and evaluates man hours and supplies expended, reports deficiencies to division chief. On a daily basis establishes ammunition crews in regards to manpower, equipment and qualification requirements. Issues documents to ammunition crew chief and identifies potential problems or special requirements and concerns. Provides further advice if problems are encountered and reported via radio or other means of communication. Checks and documents status and progress of operations in a variety of reports. Generates the daily production report based on manhours consumed per crew per assigned mission, compares estimated to actual performance and reports potential delays/problems. Compiles information into a variety of reports providing the data necessary for the evaluation of the daily progress in missions, identifies hold-ups, researches causes with assigned crew chief and discusses required changes/improvements. Reports conveyances loaded or unloaded to maintain visibility of work completed and work left to be performed. Calculates space availability in the holding areas and monitors the net explosive quantity staged according to hazard class to maintain quantities within set limits. Receives documentation from crew chiefs upon completion of task, checks for completeness and accuracy, initiates correction if required. Distributes documentation. Identifies blocking and bracing requirements for specific type of ammunition and mode of shipment, provides documentation to crew chief and to the foreman Carpenter shop for the pre-fabrication of blocking and bracing. Checks / verifies hazardous cargo information in regards to UN number, Un proper shipping name, labeling and placard requirements for primary and secondary hazards. Maintains work order logs for the support elements of Operations Division, carpenter shop and machine shop. Receives work requests from other elements of ACE, determines authorization of requester, validates requests and assigns priority code. Forwards for approval and upon return distributes to respective shop. Generates work orders, organic to Operations, as required, e.g. for local container repair or fabrication of blocking and bracing for conveyances IAW technical standards and drawings. Evaluates returned work orders in regards to man-hours and supplies consumed. Incumbent is the prime element for management and accountability of containers stored at the Theater Storage Activity Miesau being the container hub for Central Europe for ammunition grade containers destined for US Army and US Air Force requirements. Issues container movement report to container handling personnel, identifies task to be accomplished. Uses reported data to maintain visibility of individual containers and to evaluate performance of task. Consolidates information provided into the container inventory report. Maintains the inventory of containers and container components by type, status, location and owners. Reports changes in status (e.g. inspected serviceable, inspected reject, inspection required) and availability (e.g. empty, loaded, identified for mission); coordinates authorization for use with 21st TSC DMC. Initiates / conducts semiannual physical inventories of containers and associated items in order to validate actual containers against the reports generated thus maintaining a high level of accuracy. Researches and reports findings, discrepancies and potential solutions with supervisor. Initiates mandatory pre-load inspections of containers, annotates results serviceable/unserviceable. Directs distribution of containers according to their status serviceable containers to respective staging site by type, unserviceable containers for local repair or for shipment to the container repair facility Bremerhaven. Maintains the inventory of air palletization items, prepares reports and reports changes in status, availability and use to 21st TSC DMC. Performs other duties as assigned.
