On behalf of Dr. Anke Cajar I post the attached positions. The translational project will be conducted in cooperation with industry partners and offers an interesting career opportunity for candidates with interests in both basic and applied research.
Dear all,
we have two job openings for PhD students and/or Postdoctoral researchers in the Experimental and Biological Psychology Group at the University of Potsdam, Germany. Both positions are full-time and can be filled starting May 1st or later, with funding for up to 5 years. The positions are part of a project on digital authentication using high-resolution eye tracking as a biometric method. The project will be conducted in cooperation with non-university partners and offers an interesting career opportunity for candidates who are interested in both basic research and research applications. The two positions will entail development and testing of experimental paradigms using eye tracking and advanced data processing/statistical modeling techniques.
For your application, you must have a Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field such as cognitive science, psychology, neuroscience, or data science/computational science. Successful candidates will have expertise in two or more of the following areas:
* Excellent programming skills for implementing vision experiments (e.g., based on MATLAB or Python)
* Experience with statistical modeling of experimental data
* Strong analytical skills and a highly collaborative mindset
Both positions will be funded at the TV-L E13 100% pay scale and come with full benefits, like health insurance, contributions to retirement funds, etc. Our lab features a team of young scientists that work on a set of exciting topics in visual cognition and computational modeling, with our research largely focusing on eye movements as a window into ongoing visual perception and cognitive-attentional mechanisms. Our lab is also centrally involved in two DFG-funded Collaborative Research Centers on Data Assimilation () and the Limits of Variability in Language ().
