We are seeking a Data Architect with expertise in GridModel to support a modular control center system project. The role involves requirement gathering, workflow improvement, and data modeling within a CIM-based data mesh architecture.

Your tasks
1. Coordinate with stakeholders, customers, and Product Owners to collect and document business requirements.
2. Create and maintain data requirements with well-defined acceptance criteria to drive successful outcomes.
3. Supervise and improve the workflow to collect data requirements and drive them towards implementation.
4. Set and enforce standards to structure and document data requirement requests.
5. Research existing data in the Data Glossary (CIM Data Model) and use the Data Product Catalog and Data Discoverability Tools.
6. Structure requirements from multiple teams, including State Estimation, Grid Calculations, Grid Control and Monitoring, and Alarming.
7. Propose extensions to the CIM/CGMES-based data model according to project needs.
8. Participate in project meetings as necessary for the delivery of services.
Must have competences
1. Academic degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in electrotechnical engineering or equivalent experience.
2. Proficiency in both English and German (C1 level or higher).
3. Experience with CIM/CGMES or similar grid modeling.
4. Experience in the SCADA/EMS domain for a grid operator.
5. Experience with databases (SQL Queries) and dashboarding tools.
6. Basic technical literacy, including understanding product architecture, APIs, event streaming, and key technical concepts to bridge communication between engineering and non-technical teams.
7. Hands-on experience as a Business Analyst, Requirements Engineer, or Product Owner for digital solutions/software teams for the power grid.
8. Familiarity with product management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Trello, or Confluence.
Nice to have competences
1. Experience with data mesh architecture.
2. Knowledge of state estimation, grid calculations, and grid control and monitoring.
3. Experience with data glossary and data discoverability tools.
4. Ability to propose extensions to CIM/CGMES-based data models.
Additional information
The project is 95% remote with 5% on-site work at the headquarters in Berlin. Travel expenses are minimal, accounting for 5%.
