Your role The successful candidate is expected to assume a leading role in defining, acquiring, managing, and scientifically contributing to projects in Robotic Manipulation in Space. The candidate will carry a leading role in robotics perception and visual servoing and support PhD candidates in their thesis research. The candidate will work closely with Prof. Miguel Olivares Mendez and the team members of the Space Robotics (SpaceR) Research Group. English is the working language of this international laboratory. The lab is engaged in several European projects and conducting research in close collaboration with industry partners. In addition, the candidate should perform the following tasks: Supervise PhD theses on the same topic Create and teach specific courses robotics manipulation, robotics and perception for robotics at Master and potentially at bachelor level fulfilling the at least 45 teaching units per year Lead project proposals writing on the national and international level Lead discussions with potential industrial partners at the local and international level Lead as PI or WP leader national, international and industrial projects Lead the funding acquisition to construct a research facility in this topic Lead the design, construction and setup of a robotics facility on the same topic Organize international scientific events, such as workshops, special sessions in conference and special issues in international scientific journals Your profile The candidate should possess a PhD in Robotics or Mechatronic Engineering with a focus on terrestrial and/or space robotics.
