DuPont™ Cyrel® Flexographic Solutions is seeking a dedicated Applications Specialist to join our dynamic team. The Cyrel® business is a leader in providing high-quality flexographic printing systems and solutions that cater to a broad spectrum of packaging needs, including food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and industrial packaging sectors. This position is situated within our Research & Development (R&D) organization, a dedicated team that specializes in the development, application, and technical support of flexographic printing products and solutions. The role entails working closely with a local team of applications specialists and engineers, as well as being a part of a global R&D organization. The Applications Specialist will be based in Neu-Isenburg, Germany, where our facilities include state-of-the-art laboratories and technical spaces designed for the development and testing of flexographic printing solutions. These facilities are equipped with advanced tools for print process optimization, plate testing, and application studies to enhance print quality and productivity.
The successful candidate will report to a Technology Manager within the Cyrel® Flexographic Solutions business and have day to day guidance from the EMEA Cyrel® Technical Service Manager. This role offers the opportunity to make significant contributions to the development and optimization of flexographic printing technologies, working in collaboration with a skilled team of professionals to advance the capabilities and applications of Cyrel® products in the packaging industry.
Job Description (Functional Responsibilities):
The primary responsibility of this position is to drive advancements and apply innovative practices within the flexographic printing field, focusing specifically on the development and hands-on application of flexographic printing plates and to enhance print quality and production efficiency for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work with R&D team to develop application conditions on our processing equipment.
2. Provide detailed feedback on plate performance and application conditions.
3. Evaluate new and prototype plate processing equipment to provide data-driven recommendations.
4. Conduct design of experiments (DOEs) on application conditions to optimize plate development, leveraging statistical analysis.
5. Must independently plan and execute application testing, analysis, and documentation.
6. Provide data and support to project team to achieve program milestones
7. Work with project team to support scale-up of new products.
8. Logically troubleshoot applications and equipment problems.
9. Lead laboratory R&D activities, ensuring the operational readiness of laboratory instruments and equipment.
10. Maintain rigorous safety documentation to meet DuPont safety standards consistently.
11. Collaborate and communicate in English.
12. Work with the NIB team to provide escalated customer support.
Qualifications:
13. Fluent in English and German
14. University degree in printing technology, mechanical engineering, or a comparable training, or equivalent experience in industrial packaging printing
15. Some programing experience with either Visual Basic, Python, SQL or the like.
16. Structured and independent work in the execution of tests and the following Data analysis
17. Experience in the field of flexographic or packaging printing, preferred
18. Good written and verbal communication skills
19. Uphold a safe work environment
20. Willingness to travel regularly
21. Valid driver's license.
