The opportunity
Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity to join us as a Solution Architect. You'll be accountable for managing workstream interdependencies, mainly but not restricted to the specific End-to-End Stream, and responsible for the design, integrity, and quality of the SAP solution and associated IS services delivered to Business, Support Functions, and IS Technology domains as the case may be. Provide the required functionality that meets the requirement of the business and be responsible for SAP solution/service, collaborating with and contributing to project set-up and delivery as well as service operations optimization.
You'll support validation and prioritization of incoming business demand in collaboration with project owners, business function and unit, as well as the relevant IS Business Analyst, IS Service Manager, IS Application Manager, and/or Global IS Domain Architect.
Define the technical SAP solution and ensure alignment with other modules and surrounding IS applications through cooperation and collaboration across solution architects.
Engage in requirement engineering to decide which requirements are covered by available standard functionalities, for which functionalities enhancements are needed, and for which functionalities workarounds are accepted.
How you’ll make an impact
1. Translate functional designs into detailed functional and technical specifications, and review and sign off on use case specifications.
2. Manage transport requests and update their status until they are released to the production system.
3. Develop rules, principles, and guidelines to steer the development of technical solutions.
4. Define non-functional requirements and ensure service/solution operation standards are met.
5. Consult with users to understand current procedures and clarify further requirements.
6. Support the installation, management, maintenance, and optimization of all SAP processes within your area of responsibility.
7. Provide guidance to IS project management and IS delivery teams on effectively utilizing IS application/solution standards (e.g., SAP).
8. Collaborate with various business process IS architectural domains and enterprise technology IS architecture domains to achieve common goals.
9. Execute all actions in IS processes according to agreed RACIS specifications for assigned tasks.
10. Work with the Global IS Domain Architect to ensure IS solution/service-related standards are adhered to.
11. Support temporary work teams by guiding and monitoring task completion, and sharing expert knowledge and advice, with or without carrying line responsibility.
Your Background
1. Master’s/Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
2. Over 8 years of advanced experience in the Information Technology industry, with a focus on S/4 HANA systems, and at least 5 years of solution architecture experience in global projects, particularly in SAP EWM, IM, and LE.
3. Practical experience with integration software/tools such as MuleSoft.
4. Experience or understanding of SAP ABAP programming and SAP ALE-IDOC.
5. Proven experience in implementing SAP best practices, especially for smooth transitions when carving out a business division from the current SAP landscape to a different one.
6. Highly skilled at bridging, translating, and integrating business with IT, and converting business requirements into IT solutions.
7. Ability to provide leadership to ensure effective solutions that drive business value are created and implemented, even in virtual team environments.
