Your Role
1. Inspect previous and forthcoming correspondence, interaction summaries and meeting minutes connected to a project involving an external project partner
2. Participate in preparation of and attend in meetings with the external project partner
3. Draft or support in summaries relating to exchange of information with the external project partner
4. Ensure the freedom of third-party rights (FTO) by conducting prior art searches, conducting FTO analyses and creating decision templates for the management board in collaboration with the Head of Strategic IP Coordination and the Freedom-To-Operate Analyst
5. Support preparation of the Risk Management Meeting in which respective decisions are made
6. Prepare and initiate invalidation actions and invalidity opinions with respect to third party protection rights
7. Work together with the Head of Strategic IP Coordination and Corporate General Counsels to identify various intellectual property rights (IPR) such as know-how, copyrights, inventions, and trade secrets [and differentiate into project-related and non-project related background IPR and into project-related and non-project related foreground IPR
8. Elaborate strategies to secure IPR to the company
9. In coordination with the Head of Strategic IP Coordination, the Patent Manager, and the Patent Owners, conduct IP generation calls and workshops to draft invention reports and file patent applications prior to exchange of information with the external project partner
10. Monitor the deadlines for submitting patent, utility model, and design patent applications and offer support in the filing process to ensure they are not disclosed to the project partner or the public before the appropriate time
11. Evaluate and analyze invention reports, patent applications, and patents and assist in management decision-making. Supervise the Project and non-project Patent Committee Meetings, where the relevant patent filing decisions are established
12. Conduct mindset & awareness trainings for technical experts and persons being involved in the project
Your Profile
13. A degree in patent engineering, technical engineering, physics, chemistry or science
14. Understanding of patent, design, trademark, and copyright
15. Knowledge of engaging with prominent external partners
16. Delight in being involved in an international and diverse team
17. A strong affinity for familiarizing yourself with technical issues, in particular new and disruptive technologies related to the Vision Care business
18. Used to work in a precise and structured manner and keep deadlines and manage processes in addition
19. Possess excellent communication abilities and have a cooperative mindset
20. Fluency in business German and English, both written and spoken
