Hauptaufgaben Assigns work to the members of the survey teams. Explains requirements for new or changed functions, processes and goals. Establishes operating guidelines to implement procedures, methods, and other work related changes. Studies continuing problems related to the quality and quantity of work and operating effectiveness and initiates corrective actions. Resolves technical work problems not covered by precedents or established policies. Resolves major problems encountered by the members of the survey team. Obtains approval for construction projects which may become necessary during the survey. Receives inspection reports prepared by the members of the survey team. Evaluates customers approved telecommunication requirements and analyzes data and information provided with the survey team's inspection report. Demonstrates or explains the application of new fiber optic and copper splicing techniques. Plans and assigns work, revises work schedules, explains work and performance requirements, and reviews work in progress and upon completion. Attends community meetings and planning boards to coordinate communication support projects. Provides recommendations and prepares proposals for improvements to the existing cable distributions system. Prepares or assists in the preparation of Engineering Installation Packages (EIP) during Site Surveys. Supervises and performs administrative duties as required. Adjusts drawings, flowcharts, block diagrams and cable distribution system (CDS) plans, etc. to indicate in detail changes to CDS and installations of new manholes and cable splices. Conducts inspections in subordinate elements to evaluate the quality of job performance and the degree of compliance with directives and regulations. Within the authority delegated, directs the correction of discrepancies; prepares associated reports referring the intricate and policy affecting issues to superiors for discussion. Develops alternate telecommunication plans for a facility by describing options in levels of available services, equipment operating features, and the costs involved. Develops recommendations for mixed data and voice systems using standardized technology or defines local telecommunications requirements were there is concern about linkages with other existing systems. Develops plans for approaches that may be undertaken, defines the level of risk involved for each plan, develops the costs for implementing each of several options, and recommends a course of action to meet assignment objectives.
