independent research in the field of molecular yeast microbiology with the opportunity to do a doctorate and participate in the HGU graduate school
contributing to the DFG research project «Further analyses of nectrotrophic mycopara- sitism in the predator yeast Saccharomycopsis schoenii» (doi:10.1371/journal.ppat.1012503)
investigation of effector genes, generation of deletion mutants and characterization of their contributions to virulence in Saccharomycopsis
use of microscopic imaging techniques: fluorescence microscopy and time-lapse microscopy
supervision of bachelor's and master's theses in yeast microbiology
publication in international and national scientific journals
communication and presentation of research work at national and international conferences
Your expertise - our requirements.
above-average scientific university degree (Master or diploma) in life sciences, biology, biotechnology, or related fields with a molecular focus
experience in working with filamentous fungi or yeasts
knowledge of microbiology and DNA biology (PCR, cloning, transformation, sequencing)
good written and spoken German and English skills
computer skills (Office applications), DNA analysis software
independent and cooperative work as part of an international team
