The Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems is a theoretically oriented research institute where more than 200 scientists from over 40 countries conduct fundamental physics research together with more than 1,000 international guests per year. The institute and its associated guest houses host up to 20 international conferences a year. A team of around 30 infrastructure staff is responsible for research-related tasks. As the institute's internal IT department with 5 employees, we offer comprehensive IT services from a single source. To support the team and the head, we are looking for a reliable employee with a passion for mastering demanding IT challenges to promote a collaborative research environment and, if suitable, to take on management tasks as soon as possible.
