About the Role & Team
The Trade Finance & Working Capital Solutions team sits within our global Credit & Surety unit. Your role will be a mix of transactional underwriting and client and broker relationship management. All our underwriters follow "End to End"approach, combining client management with individual transaction underwriting assessment and sign-off. This role covers underwriting of transactions with both Corporates and Financial Institutions (FI) as Obligors.
The role of our team is to provide insurance capacity and solutions to leading Trade Finance & Working Capital Solutions banks and non-bank financial institutions. This involves an international work environment with a global scope and customer base.
You will:
• Independently analyse transactions with corporate obligors (involving receivables, payables, corporate trade and non-trade loans) and FI obligors (involving documentary trade finance - LCs, avalized drafts, SBLCs, Bank Guarantees, trade loans, as well as other (non-trade) structures like special purpose FI loans)
• Assess pricing, obligor risk, policy wordings and provide your deep expertise in underwriting a variety of structures and underlying risk profiles
• Manage transactions end-to-end from client management to transaction underwriting assessment and sign-off
• Efficiently handle client and broker relationships to grow our book and profitability
• Present transactions to internal stakeholders and defend positions with energy
• Identify and monitor market, economic and legal developments impacting risks and business growth opportunities
• Work in a collegiate high-performance regional and global team environment
About You
We are looking for an exceptional teammate with strong analytical, communication, negotiation and presentation skills who can constructively and respectfully engage in challenging conversations with our stakeholders and execute transactions effectively.
Are you able to underwrite the risks of a transaction and form outstanding relationships with your clients? Are you able and willing to take initiatives and implement measures in a goal-oriented manner with a 'can do attitude' and have:
• At least 5 years of experience within the Financial Services Industry in Trade Finance, Corporate Banking or Credit Insurance setting
• Strong experience assessing corporate obligors, involving transactions in receivables- and payable finance, term loans, RCF
• Strong understanding of documentary trade finance transactions and FI obligors in emerging markets.
• Interest in international trade, economic interdependencies, financial analysis, in particular applied to a range of economies and transactions around the world
• Experience in client-facing transactional roles with a customer focus and service mentality
• Good analytical skills and attention to detail combined with an open and curious mindset
• Strong communication skills and transaction management skills
• Inclusive team player with "hands-on" approach
• Awareness of operational complexities
• High cultural sensitivity and ability to work in a robust international, multicultural and complex environment
• Fluent in English and German (other business-relevant languages are a plus)
• Willingness to travel from time to time for events and client meetings
