We are looking for a responsible person with strong leadership skills who will share their skills and qualifications with us and apply them to senior financial planning, budget and service matters in the Information and Communication Technology Department. In this way, you will make a valuable contribution to the security mission of the Berlin Police.
As head of the department, you will be responsible for a wide range of administrative and technical issues. Two groups of the Dir ZS IKT A unit deal with central administrative matters of the department, such as the preparation of the budget, accounting and contracts as well as the procurement of information and communication technology and services. Three other groups have a technical focus and look after the wired IT infrastructure, telephony and radio technology, among other things.
These are some of the important tasks that await you here:
* Designing the internal organizational and operational structure of the department
* Deciding on processes of fundamental importance in unit matters
* Supervision and management of subordinate staff within the framework of modern personnel management
* Responsible use of human and material resources for target-oriented service provision
* Prioritization within the unit tasks, in particular to ensure the service level for high availability of telephony and radio / special technology as well as important police command and operational resources through infrastructure support and mobile emergency power supply
* Representation and presentation of the unit in internal / external negotiations
* Budget, investment and management planning for the ICT budget of the entire authority with a financial volume of around € 90 million in cooperation with the Finance department, the staff 5 of the organizational units and SenInnSport
* Advising the department management and specialist departments on budget matters and procurement in accordance with procurement law

The advertisement is aimed exclusively at civil servants who have the career qualification for the second entry-level post in career group 2 of the non-technical administrative service, i.e. are already in the higher general administrative service and are seeking a promotion post. The duties will initially be assigned in accordance with § 97 of the State Civil Service Act (LBG) as a probationary civil servant. The probationary period is two years.
