Hauptaufgaben Serves as a Tactical Vehicle Systems Specialist, responsible for tactical vehicle fleets assigned to an Army Pre-Positioned Stock (APS) sites. As the subject matter expert (SME) for assigned fleets, develops and determine plans, procedures, and criteria for the maintenance quality assurance of APS assigned fleets. Provides technical guidance to warfighters and other stakeholders on the proper use and maintenance of assigned fleets. Develops integrated logistics support plans, which addresses all of the principal elements of support related to the total system life cycle. Formulates contractual requirements and supports the combined efforts of APS site staff, warfighters, and contractors. Attends conferences and meetings as a representative of the APS sites. Monitors periodic and special inspection of overhaul, maintenance in storage, and storage operations being performed at APS sites. Provides technical expertise, and conducts inspections and audits concerning the operation and maintenance of APS equipment covering operator, organizational, and field maintenance to APS site customers from overseas commands and foreign countries. Supplements normal capabilities of field agencies for support of equipment, particularly new and complex equipment and resolves field problems referred, which require field studies, technical research and investigation of materiel deficiencies and malfunctions. Ensures optimum maintainability of assigned equipment, maintaining awareness and comprehensive knowledge of tank-automotive vehicle systems, subsystems, and groups of commodity classes, such as M1A2 SEP Main Battle Tank; M2A3 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle; M109A6 Paladin Self-Propelled Howitzer; Patriot Surface-to-Air Missile System; STRYKER Fighting Vehicle; High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV); Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck (HEMTT); Army Water Craft, engineering equipment, communications equipment, and maintenance procedures. Ensures accuracy and adequacy of the technical data requirements related to Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army) and/or other logistics data systems used to support assigned APS sites, such as Strategic Readiness Update, Defense Readiness Reporting System-Strategic (DRRS-S), Defense Readiness Reporting System-Army (DRRS-A), Army Materiel Command Army Readiness Synchronization Update (ARSU), Army Materiel Status System (AMSS), Army Award for Maintenance Excellence (AAME), Army Operation Readiness Float (ORF) Program, Army Materiel Command (AMC) Logistic Readiness Center (LRC) workload, Army Corrosion Board (ACB), Materiel Common Operating Picture (MCOP), and Decision Support Tool (DST). Plans, conducts, and formulates studies to improve the combat readiness posture of equipment in the hands of the warfighter and methods for combat readiness evaluation. Performs long range maintenance concept studies and participates in technological developmental projects to provide and establish advanced maintenance techniques compatible within the assigned area of responsibility. Recommends interim methods for alleviating conditions in the field and disposition of the defective items and develops courses of action and make recommendations to the APS, Chief of Quality Assurance and the APS Commands on maintenance policy procedures, which affect materiel readiness of the fleets. Reviews engineering change proposals, production waivers, and deviations covering assigned material and furnishes concurrence or non-concurrence based upon maintenance implications. Identifies support requirements for all APS site assigned fleets. Supports the combined efforts of APS site staff, warfighters, and contractors. Reviews and analyzes program accomplishments against schedules. Formulates contractual requirements by preparing scopes of work, work breakdown structures, proposals, schedules and life cycle cost estimates for the total supply and maintenance program. Ensures all operational, maintenance and testing of assigned equipment is performed in a manner that will give adequate maintenance support and dependability, simplification and standardization of parts and components. Provides information to the Chief of Quality Assurance and the APS site Command concerning field problems encountered. Recommends changes, which will improve serviceability and enhance warfighter support. Attends conferences and meetings as a representative of the APS site concerning assigned vehicle systems to resolve technical deficiencies, determine policy, procedures, breakpoints, achievements, etc. Maintains contact, through personal visits, telephone, and correspondence, with other commands, private industry, and other Federal agencies. Establishes, clarifies, and disseminates information relative to maintenance operations of technical and supply personnel. Monitors periodic and special inspection of overhaul, maintenance in storage, and storage operations being performed at the APS site. Provides technical advice and instruction relative to maintenance and storage operations. Interprets overhaul standards and other pertinent procedures and regulations. Suggests improvements to facilitate operations being conducted. Determines sufficiency of maintenance and storage activities Performs other duties as assigned.
