We are seeking an experienced VP of Engineering to lead and scale a highly talented, senior engineering team in a fast-growing SaaS business. In this critical leadership role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our team continues to perform at the highest level while maintaining a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation. You will focus on developing strategies that help this high-performing team thrive, while driving the future technical direction of our products.
What you will do
* Lead a Senior Team: Manage and mentor a highly skilled and top-performing engineering team, ensuring they remain motivated, engaged, and aligned with company goals. Inspire a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
* Optimize Team Performance: Identify opportunities to elevate team dynamics and performance. Implement strategies to enhance productivity, efficiency, and job satisfaction while maintaining high-quality technical output.
* Drive Technical Strategy: Set the long-term technical vision and roadmap for the product, working closely with other leaders across the company. Ensure the technical approach supports business objectives and addresses customer needs.
* Scale the Engineering Organization: As the company grows, help scale the team, including refining recruitment strategies, onboarding, and developing talent pipelines for senior engineers. Foster leadership within the team to ensure autonomy and effectiveness.
* Innovation and Best Practices: Champion best practices in software development, continuously bringing new ideas to the table to improve processes, systems, and tools. Ensure the team stays ahead of industry trends and adopts modern technologies and methodologies.
* Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Design, and other departments to ensure seamless collaboration and the successful delivery of high-quality features.
* Operational Excellence: Oversee the team's day-to-day operations, ensuring a balance between innovation, maintenance, and technical debt. Maintain rigorous standards of code quality, performance, security, and scalability.

* Strong background in software engineering, architecture, and cloud technologies, with the ability to understand and resolve complex technical challenges.
* Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to empower and develop senior engineers, inspiring trust and fostering autonomy.
* Experience with Agile methodologies and building high-performing, self-sustaining teams.
* Ability to think strategically while supporting the team with hands-on technical leadership when necessary.
* Ability to maintain focus on both the big picture and the details, balancing technical excellence with team dynamics and company priorities.
* Fluent in English (German is a plus but not required).
