The Institute forHygiene and Microbiology of the University ofWürzburg unites clinical diagnostics andcutting-edge research in infectious diseases with services inpatient care.
The research group “HospitalHygiene”, headed by Prof. Dr. Stefanie Kampmeier, focuses on thehost-pathogen interactions and pathogen-specific factors used forthe development of individualized, risk-adapted medicine forinfection prevention in hospital settings. Our motivated team isinviting applications for the position of a Doctoral Researcher(PhD, m/f/div) at the interdisciplinary project investigatingbacterial membrane vesicles in murine sepsis settings. Thesuccessful candidate will be responsible for investigating themechanisms of endogenous translocation of enterococci, theirmembrane vesicles, and their influence on systemic inflammation inperioperative and intensive care contexts. The project isintegrated into the Interdisciplinary Center for Clinical Research(IZKF) of the Medical Faculty.
