This position will lead and manage the site supply chain/purchasing team to deliver site-operational objectives and provide outstanding supply chain service levels on quality and delivery whilst achieving the lowest total cost of acquisition for direct material, indirect goods and services, and logistics. It is an integral part of the site management team, representing strategies and objectives of the Global Supply Chain team (GSC). Drive deployment of supply chain processes and resource development while adhering to company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage the team of Buyers who are responsible for acting on order suggestions and exception messages generated by the MRP system.
2. In collaboration with the Global Supplier Performance Group, manage supplier performance for site-specific deliveries/suppliers.
3. Drive cost reduction initiatives to meet annual operating plan (AOP) and long-term business objectives.
4. Manage, minimize/eliminate supplier inflation/price increase requests and escalate to the appropriate team for further leverage accordingly.
5. Support site PWC objectives by leveraging inventory management opportunities and supplier payment terms.
6. Ensure utilization of strategic tools and processes to achieve objectives of improved on-time delivery and quality, and reduced cycle times and total cost of acquisition.
7. Facilitate and oversee critical supply-site quality issues between Operations, Engineering, Customers, and Suppliers.
8. Work with platform and GSC cross-functional teams to support & drive sourcing initiatives to reduce costs, rationalize supply base and leverage new technologies.
Your Profile:
1. 10+ years in supply chain, procurement, or materials management.
2. 10+ years’ experience in managing people.
3. Proficiency in using ERP or MRP systems, particularly SAP.
4. Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, clients, and suppliers.
5. Skill in negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors and partners.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
7. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methodologies.
8. Experience with change management and growth development planning.
9. Very good knowledge of German and English.
