About the Role
I am looking for a highly motivated professional to join our client's expanding team in Germany, focusing on Supply Chain & Purchasing. Initially starting as an individual contributor, this position has the potential to evolve into a leadership role as the organization grows. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in the automotive supply chain, strong negotiation and purchasing skills, and the ability to excel in a fast-paced startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Purchasing & Supplier Management
Lead sourcing, negotiations, and contracting with key suppliers to achieve cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
Develop strategic partnerships with suppliers to ensure alignment with business goals and project execution.
2. Global Supply Chain Leadership
Oversee supply chain planning to align with project timelines and requirements.
Develop strategies to mitigate risks and address potential disruptions in sourcing and logistics.
3. Program Support
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new project acquisitions and launches.
Ensure supply chain readiness for critical project milestones, including prototyping and production phases.
4. Operational Excellence
Streamline purchasing and supply chain processes for efficiency and scalability.
Manage initiatives focused on cost reduction while maintaining quality standards.
5. Team Development
Transition to a leadership role, building and mentoring a high-performing supply chain and purchasing team.
Establish performance metrics and accountability measures to meet organizational goals.
Qualifications
1. Experience: 7-15 years in supply chain and purchasing roles, preferably within the automotive sector. Senior management experience is a plus.
2. Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the global automotive supply chain and European OEM requirements.
3. Startup Readiness: Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with an entrepreneurial mindset.
4. Technical Skills: Proficiency in contract negotiations, supplier development, and supply chain planning tools.
5. Leadership Potential: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor team members.
6. Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; a Master’s degree is advantageous.
7. Languages: Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in German is preferred.
