KONE is now looking for an Area Category Manager for Service and MOD to join the Europe Area Procurement team.
Europe Area procurement team is built around 6 Area category managers and 6 FL Procurement leaders.
About the position
The Area Category Manager is responsible to coordinate and manage Procurement efforts for specific spend areas across FLs in an Area. You will develop and drive the implementation of Area Procurement roadmaps and plans for a specific spend area and coach FL Category Managers in the same spend areas.As the Area Country Manager you will drive the development of cross-unit suppliers and manages and select supplier Area-based supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Dotted line management of FL category managers
2. Drive category teams implementation in FL for local materials
3. Drive Procurement activities for “ONE MOD Supply” supply chain program
4. Support “Lean Purchasing Process” implementation in selected units (DACH and Nordic)
Category Strategy Development :
Developing and implementing Area procurement strategy across all Area FL to align with business goals and company strategy. Drive FL category managers to build their own category plan for their FL, aligned with local business priorities.
The scope of this role is focused on Service and Modernization procurement for Local Materials and subcontracting:
5. Identify local material harmonization opportunities across different countries and FL, toward a “cross FL supplier” or SL or GSS and support business to close offering gaps at Area or “cross FL” level.
6. Collaborate with Operations teams to continuously improve Subcontracting efficiency and to anticipate Demand&Capacity balance
7. Supplier Relationship Management :
Contract owner of few Area Strategic suppliers. Negotiating contracts and agreements with Area level Strategic suppliers.
8. Project management :
Manages and implement few selected procurements project across FL.
9. Cost Management :
Analyzing and optimizing costs within the assigned category. Implementing cost reduction strategies without compromising quality or performance
10. Market Analysis :
Follow-up market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes relevant to the assigned category. Conducting market research to identify potential suppliers and benchmarking against industry standards.
11. Risk Management:
Identifying and mitigating risks associated with the procurement of goods and services. Developing contingency plans for potential disruptions in the supply chain.
Required experience:
12. Master’s degree in international procurement or at least in Business Administration
13. 5 years of experience within procurement. Preferably with 2 years’ experience of category management in material procurement or in a service or construction company

17. Supply market understanding in own area of responsibility
18. Supplier tendering and negotiations skills.
19. Contracts management knowledge
20. Supplier relationship management skills
21. Supplier performance and quality management

23. Fluent spoken and written in English
