The Position As one of the integral parts of cross TA (xTA) Excellence, Portfolio Coordination & Planning (PCP) aims at maximizing the Therapeutic Areas' (TAs) portfolio value by implementing and maintaining a holistic Portfolio Management framework for both Pharmaceutical and Digital Health Assets. As a Senior Portfolio Manager within PCP you provide pharmaceutical and digital health portfolio decision support across TAs. Tasks & responsibilities - In the future, you will be contributing to the definition of the strategic goals of the TA organization by providing recommendations for portfolio prioritizations in line with the corporate goals. - Providing a consolidated "real time" view of assets according to value, risk, overarching spend, and critical path will be one of your tasks. - You will be expected to apply consistent & transparent decision criteria across TAs as governance decision support and deliver impact analysis of licensing opportunities. - Creating proposals for strategically relevant alternatives to support decision making by senior executives under risk and uncertainty will be part of your role. - The planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of the xTA portfolio review process will also fall under your responsibilities, including comparisons with pharmaceutical and digital health portfolios of competing pharma peers. - Your role will involve providing transparent insights into the current portfolio and an outlook into the future, including value, feasibility, and resources for the corporation. - Proactively identifying gaps, synergies, strategic actions, and directions, as well as assessing and predicting the consequences of decisions, will be expected of you in this role. Requirements - Advanced degree (Master's or comparable degree, e.g., Diploma (Univ.) in Life Sciences, Business, or Medical background - Long-standing pharmaceutical industry experience preferably in drug development with a proven track record of performing in a matrix organization - Several years of experience in Portfolio and Deliverables management of multi-functional matrix teams, as well as experience in leading large-scale projects, preferably in pharmaceutical industry - Building relationships at various governance levels and within various functions at Boehringer Ingelheim - Team player with competency in networking, building, and sustaining relationships, high cross-functional collaboration - Able to formulate complex issues into a clear path for implementation and to communicate those concepts both visually and verbally - Comfortable working in an environment of competing interests and limited resources with strong facilitation skills and a flexibility to learn and adjust Ready to contact us?
