The Aircraft Mechanic 2 (Avionics/Electrical) performs repairs and troubleshoots aircraft systems and malfunctions of avionics, navigation, electrical, and communications systems.
1. Install, remove, inspect, test, adjust, or repair avionics equipment, such as radar, radio, and navigation systems in aircraft.
2. Installs and repairs electrical wiring and/or cable on aircraft in adherence to established specifications.
3. Cuts and strips wire, insulates connections.
4. Assemble components such as switches, electrical controls, and junction boxes, using hand tools and soldering irons.
5. Safely prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks and services.
6. Perform scheduled inspections and assist in performing special inspections.
7. Perform limited maintenance operational checks and diagnoses and troubleshoots aircraft systems using special tools and test equipment as required.
8. Use and perform operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment.
Minimum Requirements:
9. High School Graduate or equivalent is required.
10. Shall have Five (5) years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience.
11. All experience must be within the Five (5) most recent years.
12. If no A&P, must possess an FCC License with Elements 1 and 3 as well as Three (3) years aviation maintenance experience, Three (3) years rotary wing aircraft experience and Two (2) years on the assigned Mission Design Series (MDS).

14. Must have a current and valid US Passport.
15. Must be able to obtain and maintain a T1/CAC (NACI) US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a T1/CAC (NACI) US Government Clearance.
16. Germany Requirements: TESA approval: Must be able to qualify for TESA approval; must have over 5 years career total Aviation maintenance experience.
17. Travel: As required in support of task order.
