Summary About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the 2d 52d Signal Battalion in Stuttgart, Germany. The initial length of this overseas tour is 36 months with possible extensions up to 5 years. Responsibilities Serves as Network Manager within the Network Enterprise Center, Network Infrastructure Division. Operates and Maintains as well as Oversees the implementation and modification of the NIPRNet/SIPRNet Network and architecture from Layer 1 through Layer 3. Monitors all ongoing operation of the network environment with many users in a community and ensures corrective action to restore operational service is accomplished. Analyzes networking equipment and software, copper, and fiber optic cables reliability and utilization reports for large, complex equipment and software systems to identify and correct problem areas. Prepares testing and implementation plans. Prepares system documentation for complex assignments in accordance with agency, major command, and local standards such as but not limited to artifacts for RMF. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by experience with Network switch\router operation and maintenance, configuration, DISA STIG review and remediation, and full initial programming and deployment; experience in executing network security with 802.1X and it's application in a network environment with Cisco ISE; knowledge, experience, and administration of Cisco Unified Call Manager it's application and execution of managing VoIP phones in a network environment with Cisco CUCM and Cisco VoIP instruments to include Unified devices such as VTC's; experience with HAPE type one encryptors such as General Dynamics TACLANES for providing secure communications regarding classified networks and the crypto/COMSEC management associated with such.
