WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
We are looking for a motivated and talented person for the Research Scientist position in our team focusing on the innovative field of lithium-ion batteries. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in the field of energy materials and to collaborate with experts in the field.
* In your new role as Research Scientist, you are responsible for developing NCM-type cathode active materials for lithium-ion batteries.
* Your focus is on finding smart and straightforward product and process designs to ensure outstanding product performance as well as transferability into highly economical production processes.
* You draft experimental plans for a team of skilled lab technicians or pilot plant operators and evaluate analytical and electrochemical results.
* You work in a global team of experienced researchers and process engineers who ensure the scale-up of our products as well as technical account managers who engage with our customers and collaborate with colleagues across various business functions.
* Furthermore, you have the responsibility for dedicated research projects and you report results to the management in regular project meetings.
* In your area of expertise, you monitor existing IP and patents of competitors and support the creation of new IP for BASF in the field of cathode active materials.
WHAT YOU OFFER
* PhD in chemistry, materials' science or a similar subject
* ideally with background knowledge about lithium-ion batteries and related battery materials
* profound knowledge in synthesizing and characterizing solid inorganic materials (through various methods, e.g. solid-state synthesis or X-Ray Diffraction)
* solid Microsoft Office skills
* proficient in German and English
