We are looking for a professional to join the Legal & Compliance Team for a minimum of 1.5 years as a Parental Leave Replacement. Overview of Role You will be a member of the Legal & Compliance Team of Rothschild & Co Deutschland GmbH in Frankfurt am Main. The team covers a broad variety of matters arising in the context of the Global Advisory / Investment Banking business activities of the Rothschild & Co Group in Germany and other German speaking countries, as well as certain legal and compliance related questions arising in other jurisdictions, including Switzerland. The Legal & Compliance team has a pro-active and service-oriented approach. The team members are constant “sparring partners” of the bankers and integrated members of the Legal & Compliance community of the Rothschild & Co Group. The main activities of the Legal & Compliance Team can be sorted in following categories: Legal : in our capacity as the legal department, we represent the interests of Rothschild & Co towards third parties. This entails primarily the drafting and negotiating of agreements with clients (Advisory Agreements, NDAs, etc.), but also with other third parties, e.g. service providers. In addition, we act as first point of contact for all members of staff in connection with all corporate matters and legal questions arising in the business. Compliance : the compliance function is responsible for the local implementation of internal and external laws, rules, policies, procedures etc. It is also responsible for monitoring the adherence of members of staff to such laws, rules, policies, and procedures with a focus on KYC Procedures (including Anti Money Laundering Procedures) and Anti-Bribery and Corruption policies. Responsibilities Covering the full client take-on process in close cooperation with the AML Officer ( Geldwäschebeauftragten ), the deal teams, potential clients and the compliance colleagues of Rothschild & Co globally Compiling structured information profiles for both legal entities and individuals based on information data systems, which includes carrying out background checks for potential clients, their management and ultimate beneficial owners as well as service providers and suppliers of Rothschild & Co Reviewing and analysing documentation for money laundering due diligence purposes Preparing client risk assessments as part of the “know-your client”-process Implementing and monitoring ongoing screening / re-assessment of client, management and ultimate beneficial owners Advising deal teams of Rothschild & Co in connection with all aspects of the client take-on process (including, for example, committee approval requests, insider lists and documentation) Providing advice also in relation to general compliance matters, e.g. conflict management, anti-bribery and corruption, personal account dealings Preparing data for regular reporting obligations in connection with the client take-on process Providing training to Rothschild & Co employees on financial crime related matters with a focus on the client take-on procedures Monitoring and reporting on legal and regulatory developments with relevance for the AML practice Education and Qualifications Strong academic background in a relevant field, e.g., Business Administration or Law Experience, Skills and Competencies Required Practical experience in the area of AML / general compliance matters Careful, independent and pragmatic way of working Ability to work under pressure and quick comprehension Assertiveness and high motivation Ability to present complex issues in a comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing Distinct analytical way of thinking Confident appearance, excellent social skills, hands-on mentality, high level of self-motivation A very high degree of personal integrity, absolute trustworthiness, loyalty and sensitivity in dealing with information and people are a matter of course for you Fluent German and very good English skills, both written and spoken Confident knowledge of the MS Office package Role Profile (F)
