THE POSITION:
The Senior Medical Science Liaison will be responsible for establishing, developing, and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders within a defined territory. The Senior MSL will be the scientific face of the Client in the field, requiring mastery of technical, clinical, and functional expertise. The Senior MSL will maximize KOL relationships by identifying collaborative opportunities that meet the strategic needs of the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Build and maintain deep expert relationships with relevant KOLs across multi-specialty disciplines.
* Support and advise in translating the field medical strategy to a national KOL plan.
* Provide expert scientific support to KOLs and referring centres.
* Partner with Medical Information colleagues to improve Standard Response Letters and FAQs.
* Act as the primary liaison to investigators interested in developing research.
* Implement the strategic medical plan and resulting tactics in prespecified centres.
* Train and mentor new MSLs or Key Account Managers.
* Support scientific congresses by organizing symposia and contributing to summaries.
* Organize pre-conference company meetings ensuring alignment with cross-functional partners.
* Stay abreast of current scientific and treatment landscape trends.
* Contribute to the cross-functional Product Team.
* Participate in the planning and execution of scientific/medical advisory boards.
* Serve as a scientific subject matter expert within therapeutic area(s).
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
* Scientific master’s degree is required.
* Minimum of 5-10 years MSL experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
* Rare disease experience preferred, particularly in Oncology or Neurology.
* Demonstrated mastery of effectively presenting clinical/scientific information.
* Mastery level proficiency with business software including Veeva CRM and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Ability to understand, review, and communicate complex technical concepts.
* Highly collaborative with outstanding relationship management skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to organize and prioritize work.
* Must live within the territory.
* Valid driver’s license required and must be in good standing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Scientific Master degree.
* Experience in Oncology, Neurology, especially in rare diseases.
* Proficient in Microsoft Suite and CRM systems.
