Your tasks The Global Category Director has the mandate and the responsibility for managing and sourcing a defined set of sub-categories as well as the category-internal vendor management within the defined area of responsibility. This covers organization, steering, performing and measurement of all strategic pooling and sourcing activities. Management Processes Accountable for formulation and implementation of category strategy being part of overall IP strategy Accountable for representation of procurement towards external business partners and management, building and maintaining effective relationships between procurement and internal business partners Plan-to-Strategy Accountability of for a category strategy in alignment with business partners for all global and hybrid Categories Responsible for conducting profound spend analysis and supplier portfolio Monitor market developments, innovations and technology trends and apply them to strategy formulation and implementation work Develop and implement category strategies for assigned categories (Global and Hybrid); engage business partners in formulation and implementation Lead cross-functional cat. working groups, facilitate category councils Source-to-Contract Prepares strategic sourcing approach for global categories Leads sourcing execution and evaluation process, tenders and negotiations in area of response incl. contract management and supplier awarding and implementation of global contracts and sourcing initiatives Achieve bundling effects and / or synergies in assigned categories Supplier Management Responsible for defining category specific supplier strategies Drive supplier evaluation and development actions according to performance KPIs Responsible for disqualification of global/regional suppliers for assigned categories Your profile Degree in Business/Management or Engineering degree Min. 10 years in procurement category management experience Proficient understanding of the end-to-end procurement process (Plan-to-Strategy, Source-to-contract) Proficient negotiation skills Managing supplier relationships including supplier escalations In-depth knowledge of assigned category incl. future trends Experience with the application of procurement standards (Procurement policies, Standard Operating Procedures, etc.) Legal and regulatory environment know-how Basic visionary and strategic mindset Pharma or comparable industry experience Thorough, extensive global market knowledge Strong analytical skills relevant Strong influential and communication skills Manage multiple priorities in a potentially high stress environment Basic understanding of change management Promote a culture of performance, ethics & compliance Communicate with and influence internal and external stakeholders Ability to work in an international business environment Strong team player Proficient user in MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PPT) Proficient user in Sourcing Tool e.g. SAP Ariba Sourcing, Supplier Management Optional: Basic user SAP ERP (SAP MM, SAP SRM, SAP FI, SAP Suite) Mindesteingruppierung/Minimum Grading: AT
