The business unit Normstahl Crawford within SDC serves the indirect sales channel. Product range includes industrial sectional doors, roller doors, door and gate automation products, docking equipment and the core competence residential garage doors incl. accessories.
Role Summary
This role will act both as a Business Controller for the Head of BU Normstahl Crawford and a Finance Manager Germany for the Country Manager Germany. The incumbent will provide timely and accurate delivery of Finance and Controlling reports, KPIs and analyses.
The role will report to the Head of BU Normstahl Crawford and Country Manager Normstahl Germany and is a member of the BU management team.
Key responsibilities
BU Controller (ca. 65%)
* Responsible to prepare reports and analysis for the BU Management for the commercial activities in the BU
* Takes a leading role to discuss all reporting matters with the Head of BU and with BU entities in the countries (Country Managers and local finance teams)
* Responsible to organize and provide guidance for the preparation of plans, budgets and forecasts for the BU entities
* Performs the analysis of the monthly results and supports BU entities (country managers and the local finance teams) to prepare business reviews/board meetings. Analyses include the review of monthly financial reports and KPIs
* Monitor BU entities’ performance against plans/forecasts. Reports major deviations to the Head of BU
* Supports the BU entities with relevant controlling activities, challenges monthly results and supports to create action plans for improvement
* Identifies business reporting requirements, drive the businesses to standardize reports and reporting solutions
* Participates in SDC EMEA / BU projects including preparing and review of business cases (investments, opening new locations, acquisitions etc.)
* Supports business to drive the business forward and reach the financial objectives set
* Responsible to review compliance of local reporting legislation and adherence to the internal ASSA ABLOY guidelines.
Finance Manager Germany (ca. 35%)
* Preparation and implementation of business reviews for Normstahl Germany, in cooperation with Country Manager Germany
* Ensuring the basis for the management and reporting of operating figures in accordance with Group requirements, including reconciliation from local HGB/UGB to IFRS, for Normstahl Germany
* Supporting regular forecasts, budget preparation and reporting, incl. analysis
* Responsibility for correct bookkeeping in accordance with national regulations and for management of intra-group/intra-company transfers
* Responsibility for timely local reporting, incl. VAT, ZM and Intrastat and preparation and completion of annual financial statements, tax calculations and local statutory audit for whole German legal entity (sites in Hallbergmoos and Papenburg)
* Cooperation with external partners such as tax consultants, auditors, and lawyers
* Compliance with internal Group guidelines and internal control regulations
* Proactively identify improvements and drive change processes
* Management responsibility for one operational accountant (incl. partial holiday cover during their absence)
Requirements
Education: Degree in Finance, Controlling, and/or equivalent professional qualification, Certified Accountant (DE Bilanzbuchhalter:in) qualification is a big advantage
Experience: Minimum 5 years related work experience in an international matrix organization handling Finance and/or Controlling in a sole responsible function
Languages: Fluent German (C2), very good English (B2), any other BU language is a plus (Swedish, Czech, Italian)
Computer skills: Good knowledge of IT tools incl. ERP systems, BI tools, MS Office and MS Excel, experience in using consolidation applications like HFM, experience with M3 (Infor) is a plus
Other: Knowledge of international accounting standards IAS/IFRS and consolidation principles, valid European driving licence
