Position Description: Training and Assessment Planner The training and assessment planner supports the U.S. Marine Corps Forces Europe and Africa (MARFOREUR/AF) headquarters staff with assessing the Command’s operational readiness; developing, coordinating, briefing, and publishing assessment plans and products; and supporting the development, management, and maintenance of the Command Training Plan (CTP). The applicant will report to the Valiant Integrates Services site manager for company-related business, and to one or more uniformed military officers and government civilians for mission-related assignments and tasking. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Supports the development, management, and maintenance of the Command Training Plan (CTP) Drafts, coordinates, and staffs for review the Commander's Training Guidance (CTG) Coordinates and facilitates training objective workshops to assist staff directorates in developing complete training objectives (TOs) for inclusion in the CTP Coordinates with the staff to link developed TOs to joint and Title 10 exercises within the Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS) Develops and publishes assessment, reporting, observation collection plans in support of all joint headquarters exercises with MARFOREUR/AF participation, joint combined exercises where MARFOREUR/AF is assigned as the Organization Conducting the Event (OCE), other exercises and events where MARFOREUR/AF has a significant training and readiness interest Ensures the sourcing of an experienced and capable assessment team to provide observations and evaluations for each identified exercise and event Plans, coordinates, and conducts exercise assessment and after-action reports (AARs), including: quick-look reports, Commander’s Event Evaluation Reports (CEER), Joint Lessons Learned Program (JLLP), and the Marine Corps Lessons Learned Program (MCCLL) Plans, coordinates, and supervises the entry of training proficiency observations (TPOs), Training Proficiency Evaluations (TPEs), Training Proficiency Assessments (TPAs), and Mission Training Assessments (MTAs) in the Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS) Provides readiness support to the quarterly USMC force synchronization conferences Provides the Command’s Readiness and Assessments section with assistance in the input, maintenance, administration of the Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS) MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Possess U.S. Citizenship, a valid U.S. Driver’s License, and a valid U.S. tourist passport Must have a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 10 years’ appropriate military experience Must have completed Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Phase I. JPME Phase II or higher level PME preferred. Must be able and willing to travel anywhere in the USEUCOM and USAFRICOM Areas of Responsibility Must be able and willing to travel frequently (a home to away ratio of 3:1 is typical for our organization, but not guaranteed as either a minimum or maximum) Must be able to work extended hours in support of exercise requirements Must be an effective communicator both verbally and in writing, and able to brief senior military leaders Must be able to work effectively with a minimum of supervision, frequently managing several projects concurrently, and delivering required products on time and manifesting a high degree of professionalism Must be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of programs including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint Fluency with Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF) concepts is preferred Fluency with the Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS) and the Joint Training Information System (JTIMS) is preferred Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at a minimum of a secret level clearance.
