Put the skills you have acquired during your studies into practice and complete your final thesis with us.
High Power Converters like Electrolysis Rectifiers are liquid cooled in order to optimize the power density. Typically, the components like power semiconductors and magnetics dissipate their losses to the liquid cooled heat sink and finally the heat is transferred from the liquid to the ambient air through a heat exchanger composed of a heat exchanger plate and fans. Multiple heat exchanger architectures are known from the literature and existing vendor base. The mechanical integration of these heat exchangers is sometimes difficult, the inner structure of the heat exchanger not optimized to the requirements of the application and the performance is not optimized to the power conversion system.

* The final thesis shall deal with the investigation of heat exchanger solutions.
* Gathering heat exchanger requirements and benchmarking the state of the art.
* Investigation of a selected heat exchanger topology.
