Primary Work Location Bad Homburg (mobile work possible) Overview Coordinate, perform and or oversee processing of payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, and all other bookkeeping activities. Maintain general ledger and reconcile account balances to detail for monthly financial statement preparation and reporting to US parent Company. Prepare monthly controlling reports as directed by management. These functions apply for all European Operations including the GmbH and the Ltd companies as directed by Management. Professional Qualifications Education and Experience Associates Degree in Business Administration or Accounting or equivalent experience. Seven to ten years experience in bookkeeping/accounting. Four to five years experience managing direct reports. Fluent in German and English, all oral and written, is essential. Proficient in spreadsheet and word processing programs, preferably Microsoft Excel and Word. Familiarity with Oracle Netsuite accounting software is preferred. Knowledgeable in German/EC-standards accounting practices. Knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting practices desired. General High standard of integrity due to exposure of this position to extremely sensitive and highly confidential information. Extreme competency in attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. Self-starter, motivated, with ability to work independently, as well as under the direction of others. Position Responsibilities Specific Interface with and provide all necessary employee information to 3 rd party payroll service provider. Maintain all payroll records prepared and provided by 3 rd party payroll service provider. Check if payroll is entered correctly into SAGE and if the reconciliation is correct. Prepare, coordinate and process payroll within SAGE KHK payroll module. Ensure compliance with all germane statutory regulations. Communicate with tax authorities and keep European Management and US Finance informed on outcome of communications. Prepare bank deposits, perform data entry of customer payments and monitor bank balance. Perform data entry of vendor invoices and process vendor payments including intercompany payments. Check, control and enter travel expenses into the system. Review the general ledger and all nominal accounts to ensure accuracy of recorded information with proper supporting documentation. Monitor Budget against actual figures and forward figures to European Management. Make recommendations. Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual reports as required by germane, local and national government authorities. Provide US financial staff and European Management with month end/quarter end/year end reports. Provide US financial staff and European Management with controlling reports according to their needs and depending on the development and growth of the companies. Monitor accounting systems and recommend new or revised policies and procedures. Assist US in: analysis and reporting of financial results to provide forecasts and identify problem areas. interpretation of operating results and in making recommendations for cost control and profit improvement. development of financial data necessary for the preparation and evaluation of business plans and allocation of resources. preparation of schedules for independent auditors performance of year-end audit and completion of corporate income tax returns.
