We are looking for a highly motivated, intelligent, positive candidate* eager to work in a mainframe environment with experienced developers that work on adding new features and enhancements to the Adabas mainframe product line which embrace new innovative technologies. The candidate* should be someone who takes pride in constantly improving, is passionate about delivering quality software, has strong communication skills and oriented to being part of a dynamic team, takes ownership and responsibility for their software deliverables and is able to work independently.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience with the current Mainframe assembler
• Good analytic (abstract reasoning) and debugging skills when working on maintenance of existing products.
• Robust testing of any code, at all levels of QA.
• Collaboration with QA, providing comprehensive guidance, direction, and any training
• Written skills with documentation, user or technical, of new products or enhancing existing products.
• Taking ownership to ensure proactive analysis and testing to verify a high level of quality
• Contribution of creative, innovative ideas to solve complex problems with new or existing products
• Experience in Leadership with a Team, as a mentor to others, and collaborating other developers or groups
ABOUT YOU
Skills and Experience
• At least 10 years professional software development experience.
• Strong time-management skills, and the ability to manage complexities and competing priorities.
• Ability to combine judgment, experience, analytic and debugging skills, and business sense to make sound decisions
• Very good interpersonal/communication skills and experience coordinating information and activities among groups with differing agendas, across multi-functional areas.
• Solid knowledge and use of IBM Assembler.
• Experience using automated testing tools.
• Solid knowledge and experience with IBM z/OS.
• Ability to work in a diverse and geographically distributed team.
