Purpose, key responsibilities, and scope of the role Drive and execute State Street’s Investment Services/CCO strategy in Germany by establishing, maintaining and growing strong local relationships and partnerships with clients and prospects, ensuring delivery of high quality service and maintenance and evolution of strong product solutions to clients as a foundation for future growth. Strive to operate in compliance with regulatory and legal expectations as set out by law and regulatory guidance and dialogue Execute oversight of relevant State Street business areas in Germany, ensuring best practices are shared and observed, and that all entities meet legal entity and corporate governance standards Support the CEO of SSBI with the management of State Street’s country relationship with and play an active and effective advocacy role with the Deutsche Bundesbank, European Central Bank, German government and public agencies, while being a key voice of State Street in the market as well Develop and refine the Strategic Plan for German coverage (Focus on Strategic Prospects, and ensure appropriate coverage of priority clients) Through assigned relationship managers and sales resources, develop account plans for existing clients, and sales targets for prospect names Conduct regular Deal and Pipeline Reviews Annual Review of Strategic Markets and Account Plans Managerial Responsibilities Contribute to the development and execute a country-level strategy for State Street’s IS/CCO business in Germany and cultivate a “One State Street” culture across all groups Act as local owner of services delivered by State Street in Germany, working with functional leadership and global client executives and relationship managers as appropriate to ensure that our clients receive and experience an excellent and market-leading level of service, taking local ownership of significant client-related projects as appropriate (e.g. remediation programme, new business acquisition and onboarding) Develop and cultivate relationships with locally-based clients, management companies, investment funds community and investment fund directors Working with Product, and Client Coverage leadership, develop and actively manage a pipeline of new business prospects and cross-sells of new and emerging products and solutions to existing clients Working with Global Delivery leadership, ensure the German team meet client service, operational risk management and local regulatory requirements and expectations, especially concerning outsourcing and any emerging issues signalled by the regulator Contribute to and meet/where possible exceed revenue and expense management financial targets Drive employee engagement and related initiatives across all Germany locations to attain corporate expectations and advocate for actions that enhance the employer value proposition including measures that enhance Inclusion, Diversity & Equity, as well as narrowing of the gender pay gap. Support SSBI’s CEO to ensure the German branches are managed and governed in line with company law, European and German regulatory standards (as applicable) and State Street’s legal entity governance standards Lead and chair as appropriate the Country Leadership team and relevant risk and legal entity committees Represent State Street Germany on regional and global committees and working groups as required Drive and act as a role model for cultures and behaviours in Germany consistent with enterprise standards Develop and enhance through relevant dialogue and industry forums State Street’s relationship with regulators and government/public policy makers and their agencies Represent State Street in the business community and in industry organisations, ensuring our profile and reputation are enhanced Skills and Experience Driven senior leader with significant experience in bringing senior leaders together to execute against a common goal Track record in engaging with clients and managing relationships In-depth knowledge on investment funds and/or investment management industry Demonstrable ability to manage complex regulatory relationships, ideally with an established and positive track record with the German and European regulators Proven track record in business development and P&L management Strong market profile with executive presence Fluency in German and English In-depth multi-business knowledge and understanding of different products / business strategies in the different segments Proven track record in building deep partner based, collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders State Street's Speak Up Line
