Stackpole International is a globally operating company of the Johnson Electric Group. In Germany, in our Aachen development center, our team works on the development of hydraulic systems and sintered metal applications for the automotive industry and industrial applications.
As a Systems Engineer you will play a crucial role in the systems engineering department, supporting global project teams. System design, system architecture, requirement handling, system and component testing and customer contact are part of the daily business, leading to the creation of highly integrated mechatronic systems.
You will be part of a cross-functional team, focusing on the integration of hydraulic systems for the automotive industry by combining oil-pumps with brushless motors, controllers, software, and additional components depending on the target application.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop mechatronic systems according to the V-Model in compliance with automotive standards.
2. Requirement Analysis: understand system requirements on a multi-disciplinary level; define sub-systems and interfaces
3. Coordinate with global expert teams
4. System Development: design and develop systems and system architectures
5. System Integration: collaborate with global teams to integrate hydraulics, electronics and software
6. Testing and Validation: support in defining the testing strategy and scope; support on system and integration level
7. Collaboration: work closely with customer and inter-company development teams
Our requirements:
8. Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related fields
9. Proficiency in reading technical drawings and ability to create, interpret schematics and diagrams
10. Able to navigate in CAD systems
11. Able to understand FEA and CFD results
12. Practical experience in mechanical and hydraulic systems
13. Solid experience in common development tools (e.g. Matlab, Simulink)
14. Familiarity with tools which manage requirements (e.g. Doors, Helix) is a plus
15. Proficiency in English AND German (both spoken and written)
