Your focus areas.
1. The transformation of today’s products towards greater sustainability and circular economy, as well as a reduced carbon footprint
2. The selection of plastics for molded parts, based on various manufacturing processes (e.g., extrusion, injection molding, compression molding, additive manufacturing)
3. The qualification of new or alternative materials and auxiliary substances (selection of qualification methods, conducting tests, and documentation)
4. The development and maintenance of a material database for various product-specific evaluations and sustainability proofs
5. The analysis of which materials, substances, and processes used are critical according to EU regulations (e.g., RoHS & REACH) and the development of proposals to avoid them in the future
6. The creation of EPDs (Environmental Product Declarations) and LCAs (Life Cycle Assessments)

7. In this position, you are responsible for the continuous transformation towards greater sustainability and environmental protection in the field of materials engineering for low-voltage switchgear and busbar systems. The focus is on the further development of technologies and the optimization of processes for the manufacturing and processing of plastics, conductive materials, and sheet metal forming
8. Your tasks include defining and coordinating the technical requirements for the assigned development tasks, ensuring compliance with predefined development goals, and coordinating the associated project milestones and cost calculations
9. You monitor the current state of standards and research in your field and set impulses to secure the future of our products
10. You work independently with the research and development departments, the laboratory, and production, and coordinate with internal and external partners. Your partners are located worldwide

11. You have completed a technical degree (Master’s/Diploma) in engineering or natural sciences in the fields of materials engineering, materials science, mechanical engineering, or physics, or you have equivalent knowledge acquired in another way or several years of professional experience in the same or related areas
12. You are familiar with conductive materials, plastics, as well as metals and their forming techniques
13. You have already gained experience with technologies for the electroplating of steel, copper, and aluminum, as well as corrosion protection methods
14. A hands-on mentality, teamwork skills, a strong will to implement, an independent and structured way of working, as well as resilience and problem-solving skills, characterize you
15. Fluency in German and English, as well as a willingness to travel, complete your profile
