Position Description
An exciting new opportunity has become available within a core R&D team at QIAGEN. Based at our company headquarters in Hilden, close to Dusseldorf, you will join a team of development engineers focused on design and development of laboratory disposables for QIAGEN products.
Key responsibilities:
- Independent development of plastic assemblies with external partners
- Complete documentation of the development of plastic assemblies, also according to IVD standards
- Further development of technology for laboratory disposables for future products (technology research, feasibilities, patent screening and own patents)
- Development of innovative microfluidic systems for laboratory applications
- Development and implementation of new testing and analysis systems for complex plastic articles
Position Requirements
- At least 3 years’ employment experience in the development of complex plastic assemblies, ideally for medical technology or diagnostics. We are seeking individuals with varied and detailed experiences.
- Several years’ experience in the production of plastic articles and in the planning and introduction of the necessary sophisticated tools and systems following mechanical engineering principles.
- Strong analytical skills and good experience with statistics and test planning.
- Innovative personality who is used to breaking new ground and driving forward technological developments.
- Willingness to work independently and without an internal team and to regularly take on work in the laboratory and workshop yourself.
- Strong experience in supplier and partner management.
- Fluent English and German, written and spoken, essential.
