The central objective is the development of marineenvironmental robotics and sensors for sustainable marineexploration, with a strong focus on the preservation and managementof our planet’s coasts, seas and polar regions. The Air-Sea Fluxesgroup at the Institute of Coastal Ocean Dynamics conductslaboratory- and field-based research, by developing and deployingunique, novel high-resolution imaging systems to investigatesubmillimeter-scale turbulent dynamics in multiphase environmentssuch as the ocean surface. Quantifying energy and scalar fluxesacross the air-sea interface is crucial for a number ofenvironmental challenges, including weather, climate and sea stateforecasting. We are looking for an engineer for the development, testing and operation of a small autonomous research platform, equipped with a suite of measurement systems for lower atmosphereand upper ocean dynamics. We invite applications for an Engineeringposition in the area of Ocean Measurement Technology. The positionis limited to two years, starting as soon as possible.
