Here is why you are going to love this role
Overview & Project
We are looking for a highly motivated Analysis and Design Engineer (f/m/d) to join our engineering team.
You will join the rapid growth of space infrastructure as the industry calls for increased power for a growing range of applications, like data processing and transmission or in-orbit transportation and servicing.
You will join some of our most advanced and innovative technology developments, such as our deployable and in-space manufactured solar arrays, which offer a cost-efficient, lightweight solution with the highest power output for their class.
Mission
Apart from structural analysis & design, you will join a dedicated, dynamic international team and have a direct impact in shaping the next generation of deployable structures and In-Space manufactured systems
Task
* Support the design of novel deployable structures through trade studies and early concept validation
* Perform structural analysis of test and flight hardware using hand calculations and finite element analysis
* Develop predictive numerical models to understand the launch and deployment behavior of deployable structures in space and during ground testing
* Support the development of test plans and analyze test results to verify that systems and components meet the requirements and specifications
* Support in other specific analyses, including thermal and dynamic analysis
* Support our test teams with test correlation during test campaigns
* Process analytical and test data and implement effective data visualization
Here is what you bring to the table
Candidate Background
* MS degree or PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or similar)
* 2 years' industry experience with FEM/FEA, preferably within Aerospace applications
* Knowledge and experience of structural analysis with rockets / launch vehicles or satellite missions
* Experience with at least one of the following fields: explicit dynamics FEM, rigid-body dynamics, buckling and post-buckling, launch analyses (sine / random vibration, shock), modeling of polymers and composite materials
* Experience with the design of model validation experiments
* Experience with data processing and data visualization
* Fluent in English
Additional Nice-to-Have Requirements
* Familiarity with Ansys
* Familiarity with LS Dyna
* Familiarity with modeling deployable structures
* Experience with data processing and data visualization
* Coding in Python
