Our team is creating new products and technologies that make this possible, at global scale. Our team is seeking Robotics Electrical Engineers to join our diverse, full-stack team. In addition to holistically designing, building, and delivering end-to-end robotic systems, our team is responsible for the core infrastructure and tools that serve as the backbone of our robotic applications, enabling roboticists, hardware engineers, machine learning scientists, and software engineers to collaborate and deploy systems in the lab and in the field. Key job responsibilities - Design robust, high-quality, well-tested electrical equipment to interface with robots, control sensors, actuators, and other hardware. - Work with stakeholders across hardware, science, and operations teams. - Cabling design, fabrication, documentation, and quality control ownership to aid integration of new motors and sensors. - Produce clear and concise documentation such as detailed design specifications, drawings, white papers, wiring schematics and diagrams, and reports. - Development of strategic solutions, which meet or exceed our quality requirements and fall within our budgetary requirements. Capture requirements and turn them into well-defined, achievable and testable specifications and solutions. - Work with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify the appropriate electrical equipment. - Maintain high standards by participating in reviews, designing for fault tolerance and operational excellence, and creating mechanisms for continuous improvement. Basic Qualifications - BS in Electrical Engineering (or similar field) - Experience working with custom industrial motor drive electronics with Ethernet or EtherCAT based fieldbus communications. - Experience with control cabinet design, VFDs, safety gateways and input and output devices. - Experience with PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis in a continuous process or production environment. - Experience with Python or C. Ability to leverage programming skills to rapidly transition to new languages and unfamiliar platforms. Background on PC, PLC, and embedded MCU programming environments. - Experience building with quick prototype platforms (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc.) Preferred Qualifications - MS / PhD in Electrical Engineering (or similar field) - Experience with mechatronic product development, including hardware/software integration and real-time systems - Experience with robotics and/or factory automation - Experience with circuit simulations (PSpice, HyperLynx, ElmerFEM, etc ) - Experience with system models to an industry safety standard Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
